About the Drawing

If I don’t win, will I get my money back? 

No.  This raffle is separate from the regular Spring and Fall Draws and deals with a fundraiser for the Commission’s Special Tags.  If you are not drawn, you will not receive a refund.  All sales final – no refunds.

If I win, how will I know? 

Winners will be contacted by phone during and immediately following the public drawing.  A list of winners names along with their city & state will also published on this website as soon as possible following the drawing.

About The Hunt

If I win a raffle tag, where can I hunt? 

You can hunt statewide, with some exceptions.  Hunt units for each species are specified in Arizona Game & Fish Commission Order 29.  Please refer to our Rules page for more specific information about Commission Order 29 and where you can hunt.

When is the Season?  

The Season Dates for all Arizona tags in the 2021-2022 campaign begin on August 15, 2022 and end on August 14, 2023.

If I win a raffle tag is the hunt guided?

For winners of the 10 Arizona Special Tags in the main drawing the answer is NO. You may hunt on your own, or choose to hire a guide to help you on your hunt.  No guide service will be provided. Any incentive or bonus prize hunts that may be offered in addition to the 10 Arizona Special Tags will specify what, if any, guide service will be included with the prize.

About The Raffle

If I don’t win, will I get my money back?

How are the expenses of the raffle being covered?  

No administrative costs will be taken from the Special Tags raffle ticket sales. Ticket sales from optional raffles such as an optics package, incentive hunt package, as well as contributions from each of the sponsoring organizations will cover costs for publicity, printing, postage, processing, etc. All the time spent by the Board of Directors organizing and conducting the raffle is being done on a volunteer basis.

Where does the money go?  

These Special Tags were created to earn money for wildlife and wildlife management.  All the money collected per Arizona species will be spent for that species by according to Arizona statutes.

Who is sponsoring this raffle?  

The AZ Game & Fish Commission awards the Special Big Game Tags for 10 Arizona species to the Arizona Big Game Super Raffle (AZBGSR) for the purpose of conducting this raffle.   The AZBGSR is a  non-profit organization.  A volunteer Board of Directors made up of representatives from  sponsoring organizations oversees the operation of the raffle.

About the Tag/License

If I win a raffle tag, can I transfer it to someone else?   

Yes, with some restrictions.  Upon notification of winning a tag, you can request the tag be issued in someone else’s name, however the tag must be issued within 30 days of the raffle drawing.   Once the tag is issued, there are only two ways the tag can be transferred per AZ Game & Fish Commission Rule R12-4-121:
1. Compassionate Transfer
2. Transferred to a Minor child or grandchild of the person the tag was issued to

I don’t live in Arizona.  Can I enter the drawing?  

Non-residents may apply, however the contest is void where prohibited and residents of the state of Washington are not eligible to participate.  All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.  This includes residents outside the United States, provided you pay in U.S. funds.

When is the deadline for ordering? 

Deadline to enter the 2021-2022 Jaws & Paws drawing is November 30, 2021 at 10:00 pm (Arizona/MST)

Deadlines to enter main campaign drawing(s) TBA.

When can I expect to receive my tickets? 

You will not receive tickets .  Your receipt is your canceled check, credit card statement, or online sales receipt. All ticket orders are processed by an independent professional accounting/data service and tickets are computer generated with your name, address, city, state, zip, and phone number and the species/item that you have purchased a ticket(s) for shortly before the public drawing.  If you purchase more than one item they will all be computer generated prior to the drawing. These tickets will be placed into separate raffle barrels at the time of the public drawing.  Our procedures are audited annually to ensure all orders placed result in printed tickets that are included in the drawing.  All raffle tickets are retained and available for inspection for 1 year following the drawing.
